“The Quilts of JoAnn Gill… a Memorial Exhibition”

We lost a wonderful long-time friend of the Quilt Festival this past year and her family
has agreed to this special exhibition of her quilts.
Keepsake Quilts
From the Keepsake Quilting Challenge Exhibit we will offer an exhibition of 21 of the first-and second-place winning quilts from ten of the past challenge contests sponsored by Keepsake Quilting. Keepsake Quilting initiated the challenges in 1989. Since then, quilters from all over the world have participated in twice-yearly competitions, each witha different theme chosen especially to inspire and challenge.
Food for Body and Soul Quilts
Over 50 quilts and wall hangings from this national touring exhibition will include handwork that reflects food for our bodies and souls. You will not want to miss this beautiful exhibition.
This year’s Barn Quilt tour will also feature a couple of log cabins, homes and beautiful gardens along with perhaps a dozen quilt squares painted on barns and historic buildings.
Spend an exciting day with us. The tour will begin with a tour of Barbara Tolleson’s home and log house where you will see how a historic home has been updated for modern use. The log house next door will be filled with Barbara’s quilts. Then we will travel down the road to the Cherry Creek Furniture Shop for refreshments and to see bountiful gardens and more beautiful quilts on display. Next we will stop at the home of Myrna Estes’ home to see quilts displayed in her log cabin. This full day’s activity will also include shopping, lunch and stops to see close to a dozen quilt squares painted on barns and historic buildings.
